Thanks Victor, LF,

What a crazy world this is! I feel like an oldtimer when seeing all that new stuff. The technical world accelerates itselfe more and more.

I just found this video, please see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QArle2hHO54

Coincidentally i had to renew my mobile phone contract some days ago. I also had to (wanted to) buy a new mobile phone. Now i have mobile internet! Good for /p experiments and remote controlling the LF TX!. It is a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S3) which is able to work in combination with such a RTL dongle. So if that means i can build a portable SDR for LF and MF (and HF)... Unbelivable!

I will try all that new world stuff and report here.

Hello Stefan,

I do use such a stick (RTL dongle) with an upcovertor,SBL1 mixer +
overtoneosc 108MHz. Osc feed trough is not a problem,I can easy receive
th alpha channels. However dynamic range is limited, not by the converter
but by the dongle. It is used mainly to monitor the lower 100 KHz of the
spectrum wich works fine. AD converter is only 10 bits or so...

Thanks to all for the advice. Now i have the necessary informations to

start some tests.

Has someone tried such a stick on 137 kHz? What is the dynamic range?
You know, the DCF-39 problem... I.e. 60 dB would be problematic
here...
