Subject: QRT 136
LF
After some 15 years at least on 136 Khz I am now going to
QRT and dismantle the equipment and Antennas
In the early days there were over 30 countries active on
CW QSO mode and today there is virtually no QSO's taking place.
The band has gradually turned into a BEACON GRINDERS band
with no effort to engage in having a QSO.I
It looks like the 630 metre band is going the same way
although there is some two way communications taking place on CW around EU
periodically.
Fortunately all other HF bands are primarily used for QSO
purposes mostly CW and SSB with a small percentage using Data and other modes.
As far as I can remember I worked 35 different countries
on 136 Khz CW plus a lot of others XBAND mostly 136/7033 worldwide.
What has gone wrong ?????
HB9ASB/Tony and I used to work frequently on CW in those
days mostly during daytime, OH1TN was another regular there were also a lot
of ON/Belgium stns active, now all gone.
Now back to 5 Mhz and other HF bands for some real QSO'S
on CW, worldwide into the bargain!!
