Looks like we're on the road to recreating the same old problem again this year ... merging the EU and US ' dx windows '. Reception of EU stations will not be possible on this end with a 100% duty cycle QROO station in the 'EU window'.

Hi Graham, Stefan,

it's not so much a question of whether one prefers to state RF or dial frequency. I think Stefan is saying (and I would agree) that if Bob moved to 137.4 to 137.6 (ie. 136.0 dial), he would have more potential receivers in Europe. For example, PI4THT and possibly other unmamned monitors are continuously watching this range.

S.. It was   WSPR  that  gave the  world  the concept of  'dial  frequency'   for  data  mode  operation  , the  exact  qrg is  not  relevant , only  that  it  falls inside the  decoder  window    , set the  rx  to  136.2  and   retire immediately  .......dont  forget  these are  beacon stations  , so  are not bound  by the  normal  band  allocations  .. and are  not  licensed  for qso 's    ( which  would  be a  interesting   situation using  the  new  JT mode  beacon/beacon )

Warren,

Why is he TXing on 137.7 kHz and not on 137.5 kHz +- 0.1 kHz? The risk will be high that some stations will listen on the wrong frequency!

Hi Warren,

What is his ERP, roughly? Do you know? Is it "serious"?

Bob W2ZM will NOT be on 499.5 (600m) tonight
However he will be on 2200m WSPR on 137.7 (136.2 dial freq) with the call WE2XEB commencing 2300 UTC.
