We have some magic experts in the group which can find any relation how
the signal could be generated! Just let them spend some minutes to run
their brain on that issue :-)
Here the trace is gone as well. I can see QRB on the trace, typical for
MF. That makes a local origin more unlikely.

Zigactly. I have that carrier on 472.5 too, since a couple of months,
but these days it's very audible and annoying. I tried to find an ID
(modulation sideband) symmetrically around that carrier, but didn't
find anything related to that frequency.
The SV beacon was sometimes audible here, and even on Joe's frequency
(504.1 kHz) there was a sometimes audible signal. But suspiciously the
signal was switched off at 23:00 UTC, so I guess it was something
else. The signal looked like a carrier, some seconds long, interrupted
at regular intervals by a CW ID (which I couldn't read by ear). I have
a screenshot of a spectrogram on the 'portable' computer if anyone is
interested.
