Hello group

Tell me more?

I have to say an up converter in front of a DVB-T TV stick works well at HF but at MF/LF owing to the necessity of spreading the band (owing to narrow allocation etc) the display presentation is not good. Very blocky I guess as a result of the slower processing but signals don't sound bad. Also the up converter in my case using an SBL-1 whilst fine at HF in terms of gain with no pre-amp at MF appears to need one. RX antenna gain at MF/LF is surely a factor and may be LO injection levels may not be at their optimum in my circuit.

I am very interested in the comment about added frequency coverage SANS up converter. Any detailed info would be most welcome?

Hello Graham,

I use this rtlsdr with a lf converter with SBL1 to monitor the range from
4-140 khz, works very fine for such a cheap system!

Tnx Eberhard,

I think with post  dsp  processing the  dynamic range is  increased  in
narrow  window  ?  but  in 3  MHz will  be  42 ~  ?

There  is  a  version of the  software  that  enables  use to  be  made of
the  AD  directly  , needs  the  Rf  feed  to  be attached to  one of the
pins , not  the  main  input , with  then  no  need  for the  converter (not
tried yet as  my  original installation failed  will  need  to  remove  and
start again)

but for  £13 , not  a bad  system !
