Hi Eddie,
1) no com ports used here just plain
VOX.
2) I found that selecting the MME or WDM-KS
sound drivers in setup appears to bypass the "wave" slider in the audio mixer,
producing high levels. Ticked the Direct-X driver
instead.
3) Didn't stumble here as I'm
running XP with admin rights.
Best of luck,
Markus

LF
Not so here I am afraid,
I was hoping to run on 500kHz.
1) On 2 very different computers the TX
switching of the COM Port Latches the TX on permanently, TX STOP puts it back
into RX mode but only closing the software unlatches the COM port.
2)
Audio out levels are very high, higher than any other Ham software, I will need
an audio attenuator between line out and rig.
3) Program runs under an
Admin Account but as a User it crashes after different lengths of time on each
computer.
Any one else having problems.? Computer O/S is
XP.

This is exciting news being a 2-way mode, especially
as it is 9-FSK, so doesn't need a linear PA. With bandwidths as small as 0.4Hz
for the long version, no-one will be complaining about how much bandwidth all
this digital stuff takes. Unlike OPERA, the software will be well documented
and open source.
There is a danger that, with too many digital modes
now available, the activity may be spread too thinly, a point Mal raised some
time back I believe Somehow though I suspect JT9 will rapidly become the
de-facto digital mode on 472kHz and 136kHz.
I hope that one of the
internet databases - PSK Reporter I guess, or perhaps an equivalent to WSPRnet
- will be able to display JT9 activity as this was one of the great bonuses
with WSPR beaconing.
I may give it a go on 500kHz next
week.

Oh,
now Joe has lifted the secret ;-) He released the mode 2 days ago and a
first update yesterday.
Now it really gets complex which mode to
choose. WSPR, Opera, JT9... But as a digital mode for LF i gues JT9-30 is
the most promising at all.
