Thanks also for the nice unexpected contact. Indeed I was just about to leave the station when I heared your call - very strong here, way above the QRN. There was a DK3 station tuning and testing a bit earlier but I didn't manage to get a response.
Yes I had called CQ for a couple of times on various frequencies, and listened on 501..503 and also on 3565+x kHz, but the QRN on 80 meters was worse than on MF for some reason.
Also made a solid 'groundwave' contact with Uli DJ9IE in the early evening, 599 both sides, but no big surprise since we are only 100 wavelenghts apart :)

Are you still near the radio ?
I could be QRV in about half an hour from DF0WD; normal CW preferred... before the T-storms are closing in.
