Thanks' Stefan
Quite interesting , especially the day light decode with TF3HZ and
later 4X1RF , decoding at the limit of the OP8 speed
Nothing showing from the USA , but may be next time under better
condx , also Joe vo1na may of managed a decdoe , as he did Gary ,
running 300 watts to a 35 ft top loaded vertical , using OP8 last
winter , but would of needed some warning of the event.
-4 Into Moscow ,is a outstanding level , with that level at 2000
miles , how many hops to the lower limit of OP32 -39 dB or OP64 -42
dB ... one for Alan !
05:08 136 RN3AGC de RN3AUS Op8 -4 dB in nr Moscow
As Mike , suggested , a similar test with OP32 , -6 db lower , would be
a good comparison , there is actually no limit to the time that the
OP system can be configured to run, the longest is 4 Hours , OP4H for
the 8Khz audio band , but once again, its data a mode and not 'just'
a single carrier, so still falls short at -50 db s/n .. but if there
was a station with a 'long' Ae ?
BUT The big question is , What can you transmit ? I assume the
amplifier is class d/e ...
Are you able to translate a audio based data mode to 136, the opera
data mode is designed to allow access to data/beacon with simple
CW transmitter and is not as efficient as mfsk or phase modulated
system ...
Tnx -73 -G.
