skilled ''Radio Operator'' could handle them safely.

Valves are a Radio Amateur's best friend, lovely warm glow from a pair of 813's,  4-400's, 4-1000's even the 1625. With 100 watt heaters and K/volts on the anode only a skilled Radio Operator could handle them safely.
Transistors for the Appliance Operator,  with no dangerous voltages to cause premature expiry!!
