Hello Gerhard,

A recording would have been halpful now. Maybe it was due to the settings? How did you switched to DFCW-120? Manually or by using the predefined settings? There may be a difference in the filter and noiseblanker settings which can make things 6 dB worse or so, you know...

Hello Markus!

I also thought about a coupling of antennas after playing around for a
while in SpectrumLab. I had to set up the DFCW30 Window because I
usually do not run one on my grabber.

The signal in the usual 6000 window was strong indeed but when I
switched to 30 or 60 or even 120, I wasn't able to see Lubos signal
clear enough to run a QSO.

I removed the antenna wire later from the coil but unfortunately it
didn't change anything. Still no usable signal in faster modes.

Lubos signal was good as many grabbers across Europe showed and this
made it very clear to me: I have got a problem in receiving. Due to
absence of signals, even this is hard to find out and was more than
worth the test.

At least the problem is identified and so I know what to focus on next.

Hi Lubos, Gerhard,

thanks very much for those tests! It is a real pleasure to see your
two signals side-by-side, in very good quality in my 0.48 mHz window.

The QRN was not at its best yesterday. Pity that Gerhard didn't
receive Lubos clear enough for a QSO yet, even though the trace on the
OE3GHB grabber looked strong between 8:30 and 10. Perhaps a
problem of coupling between the resonant TX antenna and an RX probe?

Looking forward for more dashes...

Markus (DF6NM)

Hello Eddie, group!

Thank you for watching out. Unfortunately I had no luck today. There
is
nothing of my signal seen on your grabber. Lubos left a clear trace.

I noticed that my signal is fading out on most grabbers where I have
been visible and so I'm going to stop the transmission for today.

It was very nice to compare Lubos and my antenna. We both ran 600mA of
Antenna-current. His antenna is higher and has more topload compared
to
mine. And now consider: He is living in a flat while I have a home and
a
small plot of land. So he's doing really well with his constructions.
He
somehow managed to hang his antenna between different blocks of flats,
more or less in a city. Marvellous.

73 es tnx everybody

Hi Lubos, Gerhard,

Very nice. I saw both of your signals in my "6000" and even in the
"600" window,

http://www.iup.uni-heidelberg.de/schaefer_vlf/DK7FC_VLF_Grabber.html.
VLF propagation is exceptionally good, even yesterday many MSK
transmitters were significantly stronger than usual.
Tnx for the activity and good luck now in the afternoon Gerhard.
Lubos, your signal seems to be quite strong. FB antenna and 600mA
at
120W (= 330 Ohm) is really good! Can't you run longer tests on
that
antenna? Yes i know, i could do the same here ;-)

Hello VLF friends!
Thanks for all reception reports. I am glad, that my signal was
seen by Gerhard/OE3GHB, Markus/DF6NM, Eddie/G3ZJO, Mal/G3KEV,
Stefan/DK7FC and Paul in Todmorden.
I haven´t a plan to transmit so long time today. Both, Gerhard
and
me, did some experiments in DFCW mode only. Than I kept my
signal
up until 12:00UT :-)
