ROS -How to defeat the
Beacon timer
The software requires
more than -18 dB of audio noise to allow
the beacon timer to count down
this was embodied to
prevent 'blind' use of the beacon ..however
as noted, for path testing it can
cause problems
No RX noise =
beacon count down stopped
A RX lock =
beacon timer is re-set
If you beacon at MF-2
, you can set the RX to MF-7 , thus
preventing timer re-set on locking to
other beacons
(but will lock to MF-7 )
Or arrange for a noise
to be observed by the programme , rx off
tune , microphone by the fan , anything that
records a level on the meter
Ok not a very elegant
solution , but the beacon is structured to
allow channel usage
