Hi again Marcelino, these can be succesful I got hold of a few in the UK a
few years back they has longitudinal slots in them. maybe to reduce eddy
currents in that application......the ferrite seems about right; I never
built a rod antenna with them but did use them for tuning/loading a wire
antenna to resonance.

I don't understand either, after I saw that ad I found a manufacturer of
ferrite rods here in Argentina that makes large ferrite rods for high
frequency welding machines, up to 40mm diameter, but not as long, up to 20cm
only,
