Excellent progress in the amateur context with Ferrite core type small antennas. by LF radio amateurs but although functional and produce results they are not in the same league as the natural resonant antenna for the frequency of interest.
Even out /P in the field if one erects a suitable TX antenna then this should also be used as the RX antenna with advantages compared to a compromise probe or ferrite handie
