Dear All,

On Sunday July 17th from 0800z-1600z (0900-1700BST) I will be transmitting a very long continuous carrier close to 8.7608kHz which I will, at some point, turn off during the test period to help ID. The TX will be my 5W earth mode set-up with 20m spaced electrodes with elevated feed to the far electrode.

If any stations with suitable equipment in the East Cambs area could look for me (with frequency locked, very narrow, Spectrum Lab settings) I'd appreciate it. The purpose of the test to see if any residual VLF signal is detectable beyond the usual earth-mode coverage area. Ideally I need stations in the 5-20km range from my QTH in Burwell, Cambs.

With earth-mode and QRSS3 the best I've achieved is just under 6km. It would be wonderful to find the signal was (just) detectable at a somewhat greater range using a very long carrier and suitable SpecLab RX settings. At some point later in the year I shall be increasing the VLF TX power to 100-200W which will improve chances of more distant reception.
