thanks - I ended up running the software out of the program files - then via compability checker at XP SP2, then as a non Admin - and now by doing all of those its fine.
If not when executing a say - QRS TX command with the prog running it comes up with a repetitive warning box about "priviledged (sp) command", Im then in a loop and have to shut the prog via Task list app killer -
.
As I explained to Rik I tend to use the QRS prog as my default my favored (cos its cos BIG buttons!) Serial com tx/rx prog to support non tx/rx software supported progs. In this case I run Ham radio delux on Com 3 for control and TX/RX via QRS on Com 4 - this allows the use of external audio inputs at the back of the TS870, which arent activated by the Ham radio delux TX button (only activates the front mic in this case) My thanks to all including Rik for the assistance

Hello Laurence,
I am running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit here & I have only had about 3 programs fail to run but my radio software all seem to be OK. My friend who has 64 bit version tells me that more than 50% of his usual software will not run on W7/64 so he has dual boot to run W7/32 for other software when required. He does say that 64 bit version is very fast.
Software company's seem to be very slow updating existing software to 64 bit & not a lot of new 64 bit stuff either.

Im having issues running some of my favorite (favourite) On7YD progs on this new Tower - anyone else been able to run QRS successfully on W7 and 64bit - tried all the normal admin offerings but locks up afterloading and executing a TX or any command. Printable suggestions welcomed.
Thanks
