12 kHz may be 11.904 kHz? This would be an Alpha signal. Otherwise i assume it is a local noise, maybe even fromyour soundcard. Can you send us a screenshot of what you receive? If you are using SpecLab, you may run this USR file for a few hours and achieve a suitable spectrogram...
