Since the 8.97khz WSPR decode earlier this morning we've not managed a single decode since, despite the WSPR signal being quite a decent strength. Andrew moved carrier 3 times to avoid interfering lines here and still no luck. I have found the best antenna for RX is the 80m square vertical loop used on 136 and 500kHz with signals 3dB up on the earth electrode in the garden which is marginally better than the earth electrode where one side is connected to the pipes (yes, not connecting to pipes appears better - explain that one please). We have both re-synced PC clocks but we are wondering if it is a problem with the Asus Netbook soundcard at Andrew's end. This afternoon we hope to try a one-way CW test. QRSS3 would be rock solid so we will try 8wpm CW. The attached file (LF reflector only) shows G6ALB's signal as he moved up the band to avoid interference. You will agree this is a decent signal in the WSPR window that should have decoded OK. More later.... 73s Roger G3XBM On 27 April 2011 11:45, Roger Lapthorn <[email protected]> wrote: Just copied G6ALB at 3km on VLF using WSPR on earth mode. Only one decode so far (-25dB S/N) but we are experimenting with set-ups. Signal looks like it should decode quite easily and I suspect some local interference is corrupting decodes. -- http://g3xbm-qrp.blogspot.com/ http://www.g3xbm.co.uk http://www.youtube.com/user/g3xbm https://sites.google.com/site/sub9khz/
