A search on Google indicates that the airplane shown in Mal's photo is probably a Lisunov Li-2, a Russian variant of the DC-3 built under licence. Some had 4-bladed propellers. Over 3000 of these aircraft were built. I apologise for the off-topic thread but the subject is of much interest to me. Regards Peter, G3LDO Interesting photo Mal. It is obviously a DC3 but has four-bladed propellers and electrical leading wing edge de icing arrangement rather than the rubber boot de icing found on all the DC3s I have known.Could you tell us more this DC3 and the outfit it belonged to.Checking HF/MF antenna and loose rivets on a DC3 before take off at Habaniya/Iraq 1956MAL/YI2DX |
