Hello Marco,

If you want to change from 600 to 6000, just increase the decimate input divisor in the FFT register card so that the width of one FFT bin becomes 424 uHz. Change the scroll rate from 1 min/pix to 10 min/pix and the time stamp from 120 minutes to 720 minutes. Change the displayed text in the info box. Center the screen near 8970.00 Hz. Add a 0 in the storage time of the peak holding graph. Maybe move the displayed level range by 10 dB (e.g. from -120...-60dB to -130...-70 dB). After a day, adjust the brightness for optimal view.

Hello Stefan,
I tried a while ago to receive Ossi and Gerhard on VLF in QRSS600. I had no luck and so i never tried to receive Henny or Uwe.
Maybe it make sense to try again in qrss6000. Is it possible to provide again your SpecLab usr files for this mode or a short descreption what i have to change on your qrss600 settings?

Many thanks

Hi all,

I fiddled about finding a somewhat better qrg.
the result is:
now dj8wx is transmitting on 8970,0177Hz.

best regards
Uwe/dj8wx

Hi Stefan, hi Henny,

Stefan, part of your question has been answered by Paul Nichelson.
pse see:

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/VLF_Group/message/17456

the reference is a GPS diciplined 10MHz signal.

no divider in use. the accurate sine wave is generated by the high speed microcontroller AT90S2313followed by a R matrixc and a  lowpass filter cutqrg 10kHz.

the phase is GPS sychronized. the time is locked to GPS 1pps.

negative: the resolution (step size) is 0,3mHz (32-bit). theoretically. really: 63xmHz. the eeprom doesnt take any notice of the last two signs of the HEX group. so it can generate near 8970,000Hz:  8970,022xHz or 8969,959xHz.

best regards

Uwe/dj8wx

Hello Henny, Uwe, VLF,

Ah, you've already seen it ;-)
I just wanted to post that i have splitted my 60000 window. Now the range arround 8970.000 +- 4 uHz and 8970.020...8970.025 is visible.
Since it has stored the last 10 days or so in the buffer, DJ8WX's transmission of last week is now visible in 47 uHz as well.

Uwe, what is the exact frequency on which you are transmitting? What is the original reference frequency and what is the divider ratio?

May there be a conflict with Hennys transmission? Now we are in a range where it is important to know the frequency to a uHz! If i look at Victor's spectrogram, it looks Henny is slightly below 8970.022 Hz, maybe 0.2 mHz. But this may be not enough to make out the difference (?) Oh, i just looked at the spectrogram and see a faint trace at 8970.0217 Hz. Is it you, Henny? It's still to much guesswork but a first step on the way to a proper ID. 3 dB QRO would be a good way to check that :-)
