Hi VLF,
please let me share with you my hope of having found finally a pretty good place for /p VLF monitoring :-) Altough easily reachable by car, it is secluded enough that I think I could even leave there one of my antennas with the Zoom H1 for hours with no supervision. This evening I recorded a few minutes at 48KSPS/24 bits. The resulting SL screenshot is attached. I believe it is normal for most of you, but it was very unusual to me to see RSDN about 20dB over the background noise in a 6Hz FFT with 40ms/pixel. The response curve looks a bit oddish because of the BBB-4 filtering, which cuts below 1KHz and above 7KHz and has a maximum in the whistlers area. The strong pulses between 5000 and 12000 are both sferiscs and rain drops hitting the 115cm whip.
Best regards Daniele
