Small point (and I stand ready to be corrected) but I'm sure Douglas
Bader was WW2 although I think he flew some WW1 models early in his
flying career before he had his accident(?) Her spent some time in civvy
street before rejoining RAF just before Battle of Britain, was shot down
and became POW.
