Hi Gary,
It must be something else. The scroll rate in my picture is 10 minutes
/ pixel! It is taken from my "DFCW-6000" window of my VLF grabber (2).
The display is locked to GPS, so OE5ODL must be at 8970.035 +-0.001 Hz.
Choose a FFT bin width of about 0.5 mHz or lower and assure your system
is locked to a MSK transmitter. Note that GBZ if OFF for some time
today, so GQD (22.1 kHz) might be a good choice in UK.
Good luck!

Stefan,
What is the time scale for the OE5ODL signal you attached to you
previous mail. I have a similar diagonal line very close to the
frequency at 8970.45Hz between 0930 & 1000utc.
Have a look at the attached, what do you think.

VLF,
Since a few days OE5ODL is transmitting longer carriers arround 8970
Hz. Frequency stability is now reasonable fine to be monitored in 424
uHz. The distance to me is 380 km. Maybe others will receive him as
well! He is currently on air!
If he is transmitting or not can be seen at http://www.langwelle.at/
