Many thanks to all who have looked for my VLF signals.
Apart from significantly increasing the power I'm at a loss now.

I have been transmitting QRSS-60 since 10.30 Z on   8.971 885 kHz
and have just switched to a continuous carrier on      8.971 932 kHz

I shall leave the TX running until either late evening or until the PA FET's
blow up.
