-------- Original-Nachricht --------
Hello Jay,
OK, i am limited in power and time so we just have to try what is
possible. If Tony/EI8JK will receive anything, it would be a new record
in distance, even into your direction. Maybe we will get some
informations if the ODX is stepwise increasing... Not sure if the
Dreamers Band can be compared to the Alpha reception since the Alphas
are several transmitters (for one frequency, e.g. 11904 Hz) on several
locations, as far as i know.
Be optimistic, that's maybe the best we have learned this year so far ;-)
> What modes / times / frequency / power will you be transmitting?
As usual i will plan DFCW-600. It is best viewed in 4.5 mHz FFT (about)
and 1 minute per pixel. After that i want to transmit a stable carrier,
maybe 30 minutes or 40. The best is, if you make a recording within
SpecLab! That would be very(!)interesting for me and others since your
RX situation seems to be very impressive!
The frequency will be 8970 Hz, as usual. I am awaiting my second GPS
module. Ebay says it is already shipped (Hongkong) on 9th Oct but still
not here. If it will be here until saturday i can transmit GPS synchron!
But the DDS VFO isn't bad i thing, as long as i can prevent strong
temperature drifts.
I want (as usual) apply the full power that the generator can give,
means about 600 W, maybe 650 W. This may result in 50 mW ERP!
If there is enough time without rain and wind, i will transmit on 6470
Hz as well, same mode and power.
If the wind is strong and stable i will perhaps roll out the 100m kite antenna and will switch them in series, i.e. trying a 300m vertical.
Then the resonance may be found somewhere arround 5170 Hz. But this is very uncertain...
There is not yet a knowledge about the optimal frequency! Maybe 6470 Hz
is even better for our distance! So it would be very nice if you can
prepare for 6470 Hz as well.
What i recommend is running 4 SL instances: DFCW-600/8.97,
DFCW-2400/8.97, DFCW-600/6.47 and DFCW-2400/6.47. If a wonder happens,
you can read my letters in DFCW-600 and if not you may see a dot coming
in on the 2400 window, coming from my longer carrier.
If you need any help in configuring the SL instances, just tell me. :-)
