Dear Mal, LF Group,

So if for a moment we assume the RX frequency is set to 8.970kHz and is accurate, and the BFO offset and sound card are also accurate, that leaves two possibilities - if it is being received as upper sideband, the signal frequency is 8970 -1000 + 894 = 8.864kHz, or if LSB then 8970 + 1000 - 894 = 9076Hz. So somewhere roughly around 9kHz... several people have experienced spurious signals at 9kHz due to intermods between MW broadcast stations - especially likely if, dare I say it, you are using a big antenna.

Cheers, Jim Moritz

Jim
The rx bfo is set to 1 kc and rf freq is approx 8.97 kcs. The system is not accurately calibrated.
