Stefan just called and said that he was able to briefly push some current into the wire. With the kite at a somewhat low angle, resonance was near 5.7 kHz, much lower than originally expected. He wants to check variometer tuning ranges and, if possible, get into his own grabber window above 6.30 kHz. At 11:20, the kite was down again. He will keep trying as we hope that the wind will pick up again later during the afternoon. However with bad weather approaching over France, he may have to pull in earlier. Best wishes, Markus (DF6NM) From: Markus Vester Sent: Sunday, August 01, 2010 12:25 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: VLF: DK7FC's 6th VLF kite experiment I asked Stefan about possible 6500 dashes. He said he has not transmitted yet, and is still struggling to get on air. 73, Markus |
