T200-2 should be fine at 400 - 500 W.

Warren,

thanks for the hint.
I just had a look and Jay actually uses T225A-2 toroids. The "A" means almost double height (and thus almost double cross sectional area).
But Jay states that "Both filters have been tested to power levels in excess of 1000 watts and should be capable of handling significantly more power.".
So I assume that the T200-2 toroids will be OK for the 400-500W power level I have in mind.

Rik,

See Jay's web page, he uses T225-2 cores at the kW level for LPF:

Dear all,

does anyone have experience with T200-2 cores (amidon) for 500kHz lowpass filters ?
Up to what power are they suitable ?
