Whilst agreeing with you that QRSS or CW can be copied by most people on the LF bands, with WSPR you get an immediate S/N report via the internet database, which proved very useful to me on 500kHz earlier this year.  It helps to see any improvements that are made dB by dB with great accuracy.

Of course, you're correct that it needs a decent number of people on WSPR for this to work. I can only hope that more people give this excellent mode a try on 136kHz in the coming months.

Only a few are equipped for data modes, this limits the reports.
I have noticed and reported several times that Data modes do not always decode, although they are perfectly visible and in some cases audible. Had these signals been keyed CW or QRS then an ID would have been possible.
Avoid unnecessary multi layers of modulation except you have a reliable signal path and want to pass large volumes of traffic, then automated systems are useful.

My 137.5kHz WSPR beacon is now closing for the night. I'll put it on again on Sunday morning and would appreciate any reports.

Although G3XIZ was able to decode my QRSS3 signal well today (he got the callsign and QTH locator) , he was unable to even see the WSPR signal, which was a bit of a surprise.

If QRSS3 was just detectable I'd have expected copy on WSPR. Am I wrong and does WSPR require several dB more signal?
