If you open an account with Farnell delivery is free (even for a single resistor), and ordering online is seriously easy. Minimum effort clocked so far involved typing in a one search term, a scroll down the page and four (or it might have been five) mouse clicks.
You'll also receive interesting booklets showing their latest products. Not sure what happened to printed catalogues,, they seem to have stopped, but were very bulky so that's probably just as well

I believe that on-line orders made with Farnell are free delivery with no minimum charge.
Telephone placed orders have a charge.

Farnell provide an excellent service but you forgot to mention a minimun order of £30 for free postage, otherwise a 2.5 pence resistor gets expensive.
Lots of LOPT'S about and cost nothing.

For the first time I ordered parts from Farnell online yesterday. In the order were some 3C90 toroids (16mm and 42mm) to use in my 136kHz transverter. I cannot fault the service: parts were here the next morning with free delivery. Just remember the prices on the internet are shown less VAT.
