We'll both be in the 400 - 1000 watt rf range unless we reduce
power for weak signal testing. If we do that it will probably be during the
QSO.

Subject: Re: LF: WE2XGR/2 & /3 to
test new ZL1BPU/ZL2AFP MSK
Hello Jay what's the power used tonight on 510.2 kHz and 510.5 kHz
?
Many QRN in Europe on MF band because we have thunderstorms.

WE2XGR/2 and /3 will be testing the new (and still under development)
ZL1BPU/ZL2AFP MSK software tonight beginning at 0000Z. The schedule is as
follows:
WE2XGR/2 will be running a beacon in FEC mode, 31 baud, from
~ 0000 - 0100Z on 510.2 kHz
WE2XGR/3 will be running a beacon in non
FEC mode, 31 baud, from ~ 0000 - 0100Z on 510.5 kHz
At 0100Z
both stations will be on 510.5 kHz and carry out a QSO starting out in non
FEC mode and likely switching to FEC mode along the
way.
Currently, only the ZL1BPU/ZL2AFP software can be used to decode
this MSK variant. A writeup on the new software and link to the files to
download can be found at http://www.qsl.net/z/zl1bpu//SOFT/msk.htm . Keep
in mind that this is just an 'appetitie wetter' stripped down test
version of a more full featured program to come in the near future. This
software was designed primarily to effectively deal with conditions on LF
so it will be interesting to see how it does both on 137 and 500
kHz.
Reports, successful or not, are very much
appreciated.
