Hey MArkus - nice! Its going to be interesting to see how and when they close down but a shame that such a good tool (on the American side) is going to be lost. As you can see Im still very unsettled and still living out of a hotel room here in Oklahoma

Cheers

Subject: LF: LoranView Grabber

Dear LF,

I have tried to set up an experimental "live" screen grabber for 100 kHz Loran-C:

Display averaging is 5 minutes, with uploads approximately every 15 minutes.  Not sure how stable this is, as I'm still playing around with the software.

There are signal traces from up to 69 active Loran and Chayka transmitters, giving an almost instant view of LF propagation across the Northern hemisphere. And there are many interesting details, like multiple skywave hops separated in time domain, or pronounced SID dips following solar flares.

Unfortunately the fun may not last long, as all American Loran-C is scheduled for closure after 20:00 Feb 8th - we'll see what will change by tomorrow night.

73, Markus (DF6NM)
