Hi Scott:

Good to hear from you. You are right, with children the priorities do have to shift. Enjoy him while you can; they seem to grow up too quickly. Our oldest grandchild just turned 20 and it seems like anohter era is passing us old folks by.

Yes, we can now use 2200 metres.

In December 2009, Industry Canada promulgated the revised Canadian Table of Frequency Allocations, which embodies the changes resulting from WRC-2007. It includes the Amateur service as a Secondary service in the band 135.7 - 137.8 kHz, subject to Footnote 5.67A. The footnote says: "Stations in the amateur service using frequencies in the band 135.7-137.8 kHz shall not exceed a maximum radiated power of 1 W (e.i.r.p.) and shall not cause harmful interference to stations of the radionavigation service operating in countries listed in No. 5.67. (WRC-07)".

A copy of the Table is attached.

It took time and effort, but we got there.

I checked with IC and they advised that with the promulgation of the revised table, it is in force. The appropriate schedules in RBR-4 will be revised in due course.

We will get a notice drafted up for the May/June issue of TCA.

So, go ahead and use the band. Would be interested to hear what luck you have. I advised Joe of this a day or two ago, so I guess he has gotten active. Great to see.

73,

Jim
