Thanks for the report Jim,

Yes the tune is a bit critical, but with the waterfall set to X4 scale its not too bad , not sure on the afc, I will email the fldigi group, see what they say about it, the mode seems to have a 'bad press' but from what I can see, as long as you are 'on frequency' then for MF use, the sync per character makes it quite robust. The duty cycle is lower than mfsk as well which is a help !

The over run on the print seems to be caused by the time constant of the squelch , I am seeing the same on my 'off air' local copy, I was hoping to repeat last nights beacon results with data , to see if this printed, but Gerhard reports the signal is not as strong with him tonight

tnx - G ..

Dear Graham, LF Group,

The signal is fading between nothing and about S5 here. Copy stops when the
signal fades out completely, but is pretty consistent if the signal is
audible, and seems to cope quite well with the static crashes - this is a
sample:

You can set the AFC, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I found I had to
align the cursors on the FLdigi waterfall carefully on to the signal to get
any copy - my centre frequency is now set to 502.997kHz.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
