Dear Laurie, Graham, LF Group,

Currently getting good copy of G0NBD in MFSK4 mode on 503.0kHz

Re other activity - I am still struggling here with my local noise problems. I am testing a two-antenna phasing arrangement, and have made some progress in discovering the reason it wasn't working is that there are two sources of similar "white" sounding noise - one being the broadcast TX site nearby, while the other is the phone line carrying the ADSL signal. Unplugging my broadband modem makes things work quite well, and I can then get the noise down 30dB or more by adjusting the antenna phasing. Wrapping about 20 turns of the incoming phone cable round a SMPS ferrite core is also fairly effective, although it does not eliminate the ADSL noise completely. So I am hoping to have a reasonable receive capability again soon on 500k.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
