I have noticed that although I can see the beacon
using SpecLab the G3PLX software seems unable to detect the signal for SNR data
during the daytime.
In view of this I have made a small change
to the way I attenuate the input to the sound card to see if it helps with
daytime detection.
I have removed the RF attenuator at the
antenna input & placed an adjustable resistive attenuator in the audio feed
to the sound card input (BTW, the sound card is a simple USB dongle type &
has no input gain control). I have adjusted the level to be similar to that
with the antenna attenuator & monitor the daytime signals when they are
present.
This morning I had to re-boot the PC &
restart the software so I am not sure how that will effect continuity with
about 15 minutes monitoring missing due to Windows & Internet security updates.
