Hi Dave, Henny and LF group,
Thanks for the fine capture, Henny. With a bit of imagination, a complete
callsign can be resolved.
Dave, the TX comprises an F1AFJ synthesier with an output of 6 MHz
buffered with a G3NYK BJT stage to a CMOS 4020 divide by 32 and keyed
using the reset line with a diode matrix ID'er set at ~QRSS75. The
184.5093 square wave from the 4020 is fed to the gate of an IRF630
of a Class E amp (Thanks to Alan's spreadsheet design). The output
is 10 watts. This goes to a pair of pie wound litz coils (~0.9 mH)
whose separation is adjusted to tune a 100m wire at about 10m high.
Matching is achieved using an autotransformer, although the
resistive component appears to be close to 50 ohms. The aerial current
is about 0.5 amps.
