Andy and the Digi Boys
Would it be possible to move to 1.9 mhz and upwards and leave 137 and 500
khz to the discerning CW radio amateurs

Yes, can't work out where the frequency shift came from. I did
initially lock onto Jim's tramsission at the begining of each of his
overs, so I would indeed have jumped in freq a couple of times.
Subsequently 'Locked' the Tx frequency and Jim reported no more freq
changes from me after that, although he did end up a few Hz lower
still.
I was using Digipan software which is a bit too QSO-orientated and too
easy to shift frequency to follow others. So it is quite possible to
end up chasing eachother up and down the band!
Perhaps it would have been better to use G3PLX's 'PSK31SBW' software
which puts precise frequency setting first and QSO mode gimmicks
second.
Anyway, I estimate somewhere between -7 to -4dBW, and will only know
better after some antenna base current measurements, rather than doing
it an the end of 20m of feeder in the shack.

Monitored above contact Sunday 1530.
M0BMUs signal so strong that I thought it was Chris G3XIZ about 1 km from
me
in Biggleswade testing RTTY at 23Hz shift. Tried replying then realised
it
was PSK. Switched to Digipan and would estimate M0BMU strength 9 and
G4JNT
strength 3 but both perfectly readable. I would confirm that G4JNT did
drift slightly between overs.
