Subject: LF: Dennis DL6NVC introduction

Hi!

I'm very new to this LF list here, logged in today :)
My name is Dennis, call DL6NVC, age 38. May I introduce myself?

As a boy of 4 I realized the very first simple electronic projects, because my grandfather showed me how to connect little bulbs and model railway track switches to power. Constructed my first MW radios when I was 10 years old. When we were 12, a classmate pulled me to the "Young Sparks" workshop classes in the former "House of the Pioneers" in Pasewalk city, northeastern GDR, JO73AM, in 1983. (sorry I do not know how to translate these old things correctly, hope you get an idea what it is about)

Licensed since 1985 (14 years old) as Y51VC, my main activity was as DL6NVC on 70/23/13cm in the early 1990's, putting JO73 and sometimes JO83 into the air on those frequencies.

The Ham Radio hobby disappeared from my life for 13+ years. For some weeks now I'm experimenting with a simple homebrew receiver, reading books, I plough up the internet for technical informations, datasheets, ideas, ..., and it is really funny to (re-)discover old and new HF knowledge and expierience :) , somehow it feels like coming back to a home that I had forgotten in the meantime, because there where so much other homes to discover...

Now I got interested in LF propagation, and lately stumbled across 500kHz and it's beacons, just observed DI2AM, SK6RUD, SM6BHZ, OK0EMW :) using my ears :) in the last days.
Now I am reading here, too. That's great!

Greetings to all! Thank You!

Regards
Dennis
