Subject: LF: RX Aerials, Wire Loops v
Ferrite Rods
Hi Everyone
Just finished a top band natter last night at
2015 UTC when I heard WI4DPE beacon rst 539 on approx. 501.5kHz.
Must tell someone as it is first time I have heard anyone on this band outside
the UK, so my experimental loop aerials can't be all bad. The
signal from the fixed 1metre loop hammered on the back fence looking North
South was slightly worse than the 8" ferrite rod mounted in an ice cream
box on a post 1m high and looking 20 degrees West of
North. I would welcome any views on wire loops v ferrite
rods on the 600m band?
