Dear all,
until this night (November 18
to 19) I
have had problems to hear GI4DPE at all for several weeks in eastern
Bavaria, in
spite of seeing him on the Shetland grabber and that he could be copied
589 in
Belgium.
Tonight I could detect him by ear at around 01.00
UTC, but he was rather weak, worse than SK6RUD.
For the
time
being
it is my impression that this November the condx on 500 kHz are not as
good
as last year, when I could make my first crossband qsos
600m/80m.
But I
continue to
listen; hopefully I will be wrong at the end.

Hi
Everyone
Just finished a top band natter last night at 2015 UTC
when
I heard WI4DPE beacon rst 539 on approx. 501.5kHz. Must tell
someone as it is first time I have heard anyone on this band outside
the
UK, so my experimental loop aerials can't be all bad. The
signal from the fixed 1metre loop hammered on the back fence looking
North South was slightly worse than the 8" ferrite rod mounted in an
ice cream box on a post 1m high and looking 20 degrees West of
North. I would welcome any views on wire loops v ferrite
rods
on the 600m band?
