Mike,I have some plots of the carrier strength of a 516 kHz aero beacon taken at a distance of 580 km. One would cover the daytime period, and the other would cover sunset until early evening. They are on my laptop at home, but I'd be happy to add titles and get them to you tonight or tomorrow. The mid-day variations were on the order of 10 dB, increasing to 20 dB as the afternoon progressed. The nighttime recording is dominated by a 45-50 dB increase in strength over the mid-day value, starting about an hour before sunset.
