LF: MF radio equipment on P&O vessels

I have made enquiries about this, in the light of a recent posting.  My contact 
points out that P&O doesn't own P&O Cruises any more (they are part of the 
American group Carnival) but a further enquiry produced the answer that Cruises 
no longer have equipment for 500 kHz.

P&O Ferries (whom P&O do still own) discontinued 500kHz after the introduction 
of GMDSS.
