I have been off the air since the storms two and a half weeks ago.
The masts sufferred no damage but one of my top wires tangled in the
end of a tree branch. Although the branch end was only the thickness
of my little finger, it was impossible to separate it from the wire.
Dislodging it was made even more difficult by my antenna being
designed to be very flexible with plenty of elastic (bungy) that
prevented me from giving the wire a really good pull.
It was finally dislodged with a combination of brute force and
weakening the branch by applying RF volts to burn it! This has taken
two weeks.
I still need to lower my masts (impossible up to now), check for
damage and straighten some bending cause by the brute force, but I
should be fully operational and beaconing for DX within a few days.
