Congrats Jeff, that's a nice explanation ! ;-)

In fact, it's a variant of multi-frequency CW called "CASTLE mode" by ZL1BPU. I have now implemented this mode in spectrum lab for testing purposes (SpecLab V2.7 build 13). How to decode CASTLE visually is explained here:

The transmission (from DK4U) was just a short on-air test. Though CASTLE is a bit faster than DFCW, imho it's not the best suited mode for inner-EU slow morse contacts due to the increased bandwidth usage.
