Another less than inspiring long haul night (10/11th)- DCF39/Buda still at poor levels, but intermediate paths to 2000 miles are still up from "poor" to "fair", but we start off well at dusk and signals gradually fall away thru the night - or the night side is getting topped up with particles causing attenuation later in the night. Its really odd and that last K8 event really did/still is producing strange path affects. I left the main receiver and the Shanghai slinger on 505 for Gus and Americas but a sproggie landed in the pass band. The internet is still awful over here - typical down loads on a frac 0.5 E1 cct are 58K and upload at 1.8Kb which means my FTP loads of Argo grabs overlap sometime or gets rejected. We are not sure when the Taiwan fiber will be repaired but its really costing businesses a huge amount of lost time. Shanghais showing some 70% of packet drops sometimes... love it.
