Dear LF Group,

After dismantling the station to take it to the RSGB HF convention in
October, and a busy spell at work, I have finally got the LF receive system
back together again. T/A signals were visible between about 0000 - 0730utc
here, with XNS, XGJ, XES, XKO all visible at various times with the usual
slow QSB. There was quite a lot of QRN and what seems to be "Luxembourg
effect" noise. At the lower end of the band, the Luxembourg effect noise was
quite strong even during daylight yesterday, and very strong after dark,
presumably because of the Hungarian "DCF" utility, whose sidebands were
audible at 136.5kHz during the day.

I also set up an RX and antenna for 505kHz - not much seen, apart from the
steady carrier with QSB close to 505kHz that has been observed by others. I
see from the "500kc" web site there is a comprehensive beacon plan, but the
"status" page gives only about 6 of the stations as actually being QRV - is
there a definitive list of which beacons are actually operating?

Cheers, Jim Moritz
