This reminds of an article about how certain types of air pollution (light 
coloured soot particles) can mitigate the effects of greenhouse gasses on 
global warming. Similarly this article is touting the benefits of polluting the 
electromagneic spectrum! 

 Non-contact inductive chargers have been around for some time, the General 
Motors EV-1 electric car used one to recharge the battery, most electric 
toothbrushes use one as well.
