I'm pleased to report the first long-distance CW-CW contact between two
Canadian amateurs on 2200m.
The QSO was between Jay, VY1JA in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and myself,
VE7SL, on Mayne Island, British Columbia. The distance between us is ~1000
miles.  The contact took place between 0650Z and 0705Z  this morning. No
repeats were required and copy was 100% at both ends. Signal reports and a
few comments were exchanged before heading for bed.
