Marcus and other watchers, The message and ID method has changed on the VY1JA beacon. The callsign is transmitted at 9 WPM and the letters JA are transmitted at QRSS30. This is repeated in a continuous loop. The purpose is to let the faster CW id be an indicator of greater signal strength. The beacon is currently at 225 W RF out to the antenna, or about 0.5 W ierp. Marcus,Thanks for the excellent note on the RF grounding of the center tap. Is there an article on that in written in English so that I can learn a bit about the subject? 73, J. |
