the QTH of DL3FDO is not too
far from the Frankfurt-Main and Mainflingen area in Germany, and this area seems
to be rather noisy on LF, may be due to the Mainflingen
transmitters.
As far as I know he had also
employed a loop antenna for receive, but as You will know, in this case it
dependes on the direction of the loop whether he may hear You or
not.
I have also had difficulties
to raise other calls in the Frankfurt area from my QTH in eastern
Bavaria.

around EU. CQ galore but seldom responds to anyone.
